This project on Pembridge Square demonstrates our collaborative approach in its fullest. Our technical abilities and out of the box thinking were tested in order to bring the architects visions to reality.

We needed to have a meticulous approach to conservation and repair alongside the installation of contemporary furniture and joinery, with the aim of producing one of the finest interiors in London.

Walnut was the choice of wood used on many of the pieces of furniture we created throughout the six floors of the house. This included designing and making pieces for the bedrooms and bathrooms, children’s playroom and family room, cloakroom, kitchen, study, media room and formal reception room.

Strong themes recurred throughout: the rooms are large and the scale of the furniture corresponds. Some of the wardrobes had huge doors that tested the running gear to its limits and shelf lengths were extended by inserting a layer of steel into the lamination. As is common practice for us, all of the pieces were of set up and tested in the workshop before delivery to site.

We were able to make many simple, yet robust additions to the original designs which resulted in major improvements to the finished pieces. An example of this was the mechanism we designed to allow the lights installed in adjustable shelving to light up effectively wherever they were placed.
